Section 1: Introduction and Interview

General questions about yourself and a range of familiar topics, such as home, family, work, studies and interests.

  • Can you tell me about your hometown?
  • What do you do in your free time?
  • Do you work or are you a student?

Section 2: Long Turn

You will be given a card with a topic and a few points to include in your talk. You will have 1 minute to prepare and then will speak for 1-2 minutes.

  • Describe a person who has influenced you in your life.
  • Talk about a place you like to visit in your free time.
  • Describe an important event in your life.

Section 3: Discussion

Further questions connected to the topic in Section 2. These questions will allow you to discuss more abstract ideas and issues.

  • What are the benefits of having role models?
  • How do you think cities can be made more environmentally friendly?
  • In what ways has technology changed the way we communicate?
